Bombardier Be 5/6 Cobra Tram
Zurich (sometimes spelled "Zuerich")actually isnt the capital of Switzerland (Bern is) but it is the largest city, creating some confusion. There is an extensive tram system here, and the trams are varied in age and technological advancement. This tram appears to be a Bombardier Be 5/6 Cobra of the Verkehrsbetriebe Zürich (VZB), one of three tram operators, and the one that is owned by the city. Cobras were originally built by Schindler, being designed in 1996. There were years of production delays before Schindler was reorganized in 2001 and Cobra production was shifted to Bombardier. The order eventually grew to 88 units, which should all be delivered by now (I dont have a current roster). These are modern low-floor trams designed for easier handicap access, but other than that Ive had a bit of trouble tracking down technical specifications.
