MILW 261 Doing A Photo Runby Somewhere In Eastern Pennsylvania (The photo was way beyond Moscow going out of Scranton), Picture 1
Title:  MILW 261 Doing A Photo Runby Somewhere In Eastern Pennsylvania (The photo was way beyond Moscow going out of Scranton), Picture 1
Description:  Here's the first of a series of photos I took on a photo runby west of Moscow, PA during the return NRHS special behind ex-Milwaukee Road #261. The location is a wild guess, and is almost certainly inaccurate. Any input for a correction would be welcome.

MILW 261 Doing A Photo Runby Somewhere In Eastern Pennsylvania (The photo was way beyond Moscow going out of Scranton), Picture 3
Title:  MILW 261 Doing A Photo Runby Somewhere In Eastern Pennsylvania (The photo was way beyond Moscow going out of Scranton), Picture 3
Description:  This is my third photo on the first runby of 261. This is, I think, the best pan shot that I took during the 1995 NRHS Convention, and one of my best ever with a steam locomotive. The location is a wild guess necessitated by the fact that rrpicturearchives doesn't allow you to omit location or give something vague. Any input for a correction would be welcome.

Title:  MILW 261 Doing A Photo Runby Somewhere In Eastern Pennsylvania (The photo was way beyond Moscow going out of Scranton), Picture 4
Description:  Here's my fourth runby shot from 261's first runby of the 1995 NRHS Convention Special back to Pocono Summit. The location, as previously stated, is only there to fill the field and any input into the proper location would be welcomed.

ex-MILW 261 Doing A Photo Runby (location is guessed)
Title:  ex-MILW 261 Doing A Photo Runby (location is guessed)
Description:  As the title indicates, the location of this runby is a guess, and at best it was close to Pocono Summit, rather than in Pocono Summit. This was the second place that the 1995 NRHS Convention Special From Scranton to Pocono Summit stopped for a runby, if anyone wants to help figure out the exact location.

ex-MILW 261 Doing A Photo Runby (location is guessed), Picture 2
Title:  ex-MILW 261 Doing A Photo Runby (location is guessed), Picture 2
Description:  Here's 261 on its second runby a few seconds after Picture 1. It wasn't breaking any speed records, but it was doing a good clip for such a short running start. Again, kudos will go to whoever can figure out the correct location for me, as "Pocono Summit" is really a placeholder, and probably not accurate.

ex-MILW 261, Picture 2
Title:  ex-MILW 261, Picture 2
Description:  Here's a detail shot that I got of 261 as it awaited its final departure from Pocono Summit. Although I don't remember for certain, the children protecting their ears on the right suggest to me that 261 was blowing its whistle at the time, perhaps in preparation to leave.

ex-MILW 261
Title:  ex-MILW 261
Description:  The 1995 NRHS Convention Special out of Steamtown terminated in Pocono Summit, but we were given a few farewell shots of 261 as it sat in Pocono Summit awaiting departure, which was done in the form of a runby.

ex-MILW 261 Performing A Photo Runby
Title:  ex-MILW 261 Performing A Photo Runby
Description:  Here's 261 doing a final photo runby on its departure from Pocono Summit, PA, which it backed up for to maximize the effect. Notice all of the tour buses, as the NRHS was regrettably forced to resort to bus transport in a country without an effective intercity rail passenger service!!

MILW 261 Doing A Photo Runby Somewhere In Eastern Pennsylvania (The photo was way beyond Moscow going out of Scranton)
Title:  MILW 261 Doing A Photo Runby Somewhere In Eastern Pennsylvania (The photo was way beyond Moscow going out of Scranton)
Description:  This shot, of former Milwaukee Road #261, was actually a photo runby, with two encores! There's nothing quite like a 4-8-4 being gunned. :-) The excursion was the finale for the 1995 NRHS National Convention.

MILW 261 At Steamtown Grand Reopening
Title:  MILW 261 At Steamtown Grand Reopening
Description:  This shot is the best that I could get in this situation, unfortunately, as the crowding at the Grand Reopening of Steamtown was the largest that I had ever seen at a rail-related event up to that time, and still rivals anything that I've seen since. Even given that it was my best, I still ended up with a guy with a tripod. Notice that he's taking a video of a stationary object. Right.... I also had to crop this to hide a stain on the print that I scanned this from. Anyway, Reading, Blue Mountain, & Northern 425 is also visible in the background on the right.

MILW 261 In The Parade Of Steam At The Steamtown Grand Reopening
Title:  MILW 261 In The Parade Of Steam At The Steamtown Grand Reopening
Description:  As with all classic American train shows, the Steamtown Grand Reopening had to have a "Parade of Steam" featuring everything steam that could turn a wheel. Here's 261 doing its runby.
